Most furniture can be made to work without a new piece. Hinge, runner, leg, back panel, a door that won’t shut. We also repair the frame. One panel can come out, if the rest is sound.
For a move we take it apart and put it up in the new place. A photo first helps with the time. Don’t half-dismantle it yourself — the screws go missing.
40 €/h. A small job can be one hour. A spare we have to buy — we’ll say before, not on the invoice later.
An old cabinet that wobbles is often cheaper to fix than to replace. A photo tells us.
Before you call
Do you bring spare parts?
A standard hinge, yes. Odd fittings — we’ll say before we order.
Is dismantling for a move the same hourly rate?
Yes, 40 €/h. Putting it up in the new place is a new trip if it isn’t the same day.
Solid wood and veneer too?
A small chip, yes. A whole door of veneer is already another job — we’ll say honestly if it isn’t worth it.
Kids’ furniture / IKEA that’s already been assembled once?
Yes. The second time is often fiddlier than out of the carton. A photo and what wobbles.
